The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands,Forestry and Marine Resourcesand Cooperatives is preparing to import a shipment of coconut varieties, as part of efforts to resuscitate the local Coconut Industry?
While coconut plantlets, will be distributed to farmers, Senior Pest Management Officer @Troy Augustine, held a training for Farmers in the Northern Agricultural District, sharing his wealth of knowledge in managing the coconut weevil.
A total of 32 farmers participated in the training in Hermitage, yesterday!
This undertaking is one of the activities of the World Bank Funded, Food Security Enhancement Programme, with a shipment of over 10,000 germplasm material expected to arrive in Grenada, in the next few months.
