ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, October 04, 2019: It is with profound sadness that the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports, Culture and the Arts has learnt of the passing of Dr. Trevor Friday.

Dr. Friday was a professional musician who played the piano and keyboard and performed with many string bands throughout Grenada.

He also produced and recorded music for a number of local calypsonians and soca artistes making significant contributions to the music industry in Grenada.

On the national stage, Dr. Friday served as Chairman of the Carnival Development Committee.

As a lover of mas, calypso and steel pan, he utilized these skills to assist in the adjudicating of these aspects of carnival on numerous occasions.

In his younger days, Dr. Friday was an outstanding sportsman participating in both athletics and football and also representing Grenada in these sporting disciplines.

Indeed Dr. Friday has given yeoman service to his country. We have lost a true Grenadian icon who will be immensely missed.

The Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and staff of the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports, Culture and the Arts extends condolences to the family of Dr. Trevor Friday. We pray that his spirit lives on and that you find comfort and peace in this time of bereavement. May the soul of Dr. Friday rest in eternal peace.
