Grenada Commends Estonia for Progress in Technology and E-governance

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, June 12, 2017 – GIS: Grenada Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell has commended Estonia for playing a key role in the technological and e-governance arenas.

Prime Minister Mitchell conveyed his commendation while meeting with Estonia’s Minister of the Environment, Mr. Marko Pomerants, during the UN Ocean Conference in New York.

Dr. Mitchell opened the discussion by expressing his pleasure in working with Minister Pomerants as co-chairs of Partnership Dialogue #5 on SIDS, LDCs and Artisanal Fishers at the UN Ocean Conference.

  Prime Minister Mitchell praised Estonia on its role as a vanguard in technology and e-governance, and welcomed cooperation in those areas, particularly with technical assistance and capacity building.

Prime Minister Mitchell and Minister Pomerants further discussed Grenada’s upcoming Chairmanship of CARICOM and Estonia's upcoming presidency of the European Union Council, both commencing in July 2017.
