ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, January 17, 2017 - GIS: There is no expected loss to national politics by the recent resignation from Cabinet by Hon. Alexandra Otway Noel, who served as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Ministry responsible for Waste Management and the Citizenship by Investment Programme.

Prime Minister Dr. Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell issued a statement thanking Mrs. Otway Noel for her services to the government, following a joint meeting to discuss her expressed wish to continue her representation as an MP of St George’s South.

Hon. Otway-Noel, over the past few weeks, had been discussing with the Prime Minister the possibility of her resigning from the Cabinet to engage in some personal pursuits.

The former Minister had made the decision so that there could be no conflict – real or imagined – arising from these personal pursuits.

Health and Social Security Minister Hon. Nickolas Steele read part of the Prime Minister’s statement during the weekly post cabinet briefing on Tuesday.
