ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, November 22, 2016 - On Wednesday, November 16, the Department of Public Administration (DPA) in collaboration with the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration (CARICAD), commenced the first day of a 5-day workshop on Job Analysis and Effective Job Description Writing and Coaching.

The aim of the workshop is to train key personnel in Ministries/ Departments on how to conduct Job Analysis and write Job Descriptions.

Government has close to 7000 employees with over 500 posts; therefore, government sees the review, update and creation of Job Descriptions as paramount importance and as pre-requisites to re-engineering the Public Service for greater efficiencies.

The facilitator is Mrs. Rosemund R. Warrington, Assistant Director, Programmes and Planning, (CARICAD).  She has been integrally involved in facilitating Public Sector transformation throughout the region for most of her career.

The DPA is hopeful that this collaboration with CARICAD in the delivery of this very important training will serve to strengthen the Human Resource Management (HRM) functions across Ministries/ Departments, thus contributing to organizational effectiveness by ensuring that the work carried out by staff is aligned with Government’s mission.

Finally, the DPA remains committed to providing adequate training opportunities in various disciplines with the aim of improving capacity building and enhancing personal goals and development.
