Prime Minister to deliver lecture at UWI-Cavehill on Wednesday evening

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, May 25, 2016 – GIS: Prime Minister Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell has traveled to Barbados today, Wednesday, May 25, to deliver the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Lecture at the University of the West Indies-Cavehill Campus.

The 19th Annual Memorial Lecture, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Roy Marshall Teaching Complex, is expected to see in attendance a wide cross section of people, including Barbadian politicians, West Indies Cricket Legends and current players, academicians, students and members of the business community.

Given his leadership of the CARICOM Committee on Cricket Governance, Prime Minister Mitchell, an alum of UWI-Cavehill, was invited to speak on the topic "West Indies Cricket in the 21st Century: Continuity and Change." 

For the last year, Prime Minister Mitchell has been working with his colleague Prime Ministers, West Indies Legends and other stakeholders on the way forward for the reform of the governance structure of West Indies Cricket.

He is expected to make a strong statement on the same during this evening's lecture.

Dr. Mitchell returns to Grenada on Thursday, May 26. During his absence, Honourable Gregory Bowen is the Acting Prime Minister.
