ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, JULY 26, 2016 - GIS:  As we prepare to welcome the new Mint service from JetBlue in January 2017, the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Clarice Modeste Curwen and her team at the Ministry wish to place on record greatest appreciation to all those persons who contributed to successfully securing this service for Grenada.

We particularly want to applaud the work done by Sir Royston Hopkin, who continues to make an important contribution to the tourism industry as a whole, not only to the accommodation sector.

Also, we wish to recognize the part played by the former Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Yolande Bain-Horsford, who held initial discussions with JetBlue towards realizing this new service, along with the GTA.

The development of this industry and indeed our country cannot lie solely on the shoulders of government, and this new service is testament to what can happen with the collective effort of stakeholders, both public and private.

In the coming months we expect that the Airlift Committee will continue to work assiduously to ensure that Grenada secures the necessary airlift to make travel to and from our islands easier for both our nationals and our visitors.

The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation and her team look forward to working with all Grenadians to preserve and strengthen the Tourism industry to benefit us all.
