ST. GEORGE’S, GEORGE, December 1, 2016 – GIS: Prime Minister Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell has reached out to his colleague Prime Ministers in St. Vincent and Barbados to offer solidarity and support in the wake of the widespread damage brought to their shores by this most recent weather system in the region.

In a note to his colleagues, the Grenadian leader said "Grenada understands all too well the far-reaching effects of natural hazards and the toll taken on livelihood and development. We therefore stand in solidarity with you, ready to offer support, as necessary."

Dr. Mitchell expressed the hope of the Government and people of Grenada that the neighbouring Islands soon experience relief and recovery, from this most recent natural disaster.

He also reiterated the need for Caribbean leaders to continue to support all efforts that are designed to guard the Islands and protect the citizens from the effects of climate change.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister who also holds the portfolio for disaster management, is urging all Grenadians, especially those living in flood prone areas, to exercise extra precaution.
