ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, OCT. 27, 2015 GIS: The Governments of Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago plan to develop a Memorandum of Understanding in relation to healthcare.

This was discussed in a first meeting held in Port of Spain last Tuesday, October 20th, between the Prime Ministers of both countries: Dr. Keith Mitchell and Dr. Keith Rowley.

The Prime Ministers discussed the critical nature of advancing the MoU on Health, which was still in draft form.

Prime Ministers shared that the relatively advanced state of the medical services in Trinidad and Tobago would continue to be available for use by Grenadians but that it was important to determine clear procedures for Grenada to access these services in Trinidad and Tobago.

The leaders agreed that given the importance of health, that finalizing the MoU should be an urgent action to be followed up by the Ministers of Health in both countries.

Prime Minister Mitchell has since instructed Grenada’s Health Minister to work diligently with his counterpart in Trinidad and Tobago, to facilitate this arrangement.
