Beausejour, Carriacou, May 22nd, 2015- Residents of the Top Hill Senior Citizens Home are settling in, in their new facility.

After almost six (6) years of being housed at the Nurses Hostel in Belair they have returned to their former location.

The home which is one of two on the island was reconstructed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) as part of the Basic Needs Trust Fund Sixth Programme with counterpart funding provided by the Government of Grenada.

Therefore, to ensure residents continue to receive the best care possible; the lone electricity company on the island; the Grenada Electricity Company Limited (GRENLEC) recently made a contribution of five thousand dollars ($5000.00).
Branch Manager of GRENLEC Wallace Collins said that the contribution is part of the company’s Community Partnership Initiative.

He noted that moving into the new facility will pose some challenges for the management and staff and therefore they saw it as important to make such a contribution.

Accepting on the home’s behalf was Treasurer Mary Simon who thanked GRENLEC for continuing to support the home.

Meanwhile, an official handing over ceremony is being planned for June 5th, 2015; the general public is invited to be a part of the event.
