ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, MAY 21, 2015 – GIS: Chief Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Andre Worme this morning conducted a briefing with officers from the Vector Control Department in St. George's, on the latest public health development regarding reports of the Zika virus (ZikaV).

During the briefing Worme and Senior Environmental Health Officer, Kenny James provided their officers with information material on the virus and its carrier, the Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Polynesiensis.

The MOH is moving swiftly to ensure that all available and possible measures are in place to safeguard the public's health interest, by preventing as much as possible and or minimizing the introduction or spread of the mosquito-borne virus in our country.

A meeting is schedule for this afternoon with Vector Control Officers in St. Andrew's.
