ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, March 26, 2015 – GIS: “JetBlue is coming to Grenada and that is confirmed,” said Civil Aviation Minister, Yolande Bain –Horsford.

Speaking at Government’s Post Cabinet Briefing on Tuesday, Minister Horsford said the airline’s officials are expected to make a visit to Grenada in the coming week.

“We will be at Sandals and we will be discussing the itinerary, as well as getting familiar with the stakeholders,” the Minister said.

The meeting, which is coming approximately two months ahead of the JetBlue’s arrival to Grenada will have as its main focus the layout and plan for the inaugural flight.

JetBlue’s development in Grenada means that the airline will be setting up its base at the Maurice Bishop International Airport, which the Civil Aviation Minister says is coming on stream.

“There are a lot of fixtures and things to be put in place and all of that is in the making now,” Minister Horsford said.

JetBlue will initially be making two flights to Grenada from New York. The first one is scheduled for June 11, 2015.

Additionally, the Minister announced that Grenada is expecting an additional flight from Delta Airlines in the month of August.
