IMF Reports Major Gains by the Mitchell Government

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, June 30, 2015 - GIS: The International Monetary Fund is reporting major gains by the Keith Mitchell Administration in Grenada in the three-year Structural Adjustment Programme.

The fund has delivered another robust and upbeat assessment of economic progress in Grenada after the country successfully completed the second review of its economic performance under the programme supported by the Extended Fund Facility (ECF).

IMF Deputy Managing Director, Min Zhu says the Grenada Government has achieved important results.

The IMF Deputy Director says fiscal targets have been exceeded and significant progress has been made in debt restructuring.

“The Grenadian authorities have achieved important results in the context of their Fund-Supported Economic Programme,” said the IMF Deputy Managing Director.

“Fiscal targets have been exceeded, important reforms of the Fiscal Policy Framework have been put in place, and significant progress has been made in restructuring public debt”.

IMF says Grenada is now receiving US 2.8 million for successfully completing the second review.
