Foreign Affairs Officials Join Yoga Enthusiasts in Celebrating International Yoga Day

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, JUNE 22, 2015 – GIS:_Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Grenada joined Yoga enthusiasts at the Sankalpa Yoga Studio, True Blue Bay Resort on Saturday June 20 in commemoration of International Yoga Day 2015.

International Yoga Day, June 21, 2015, was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly in December 11, 2014 as a result of an initiative by the Honourble Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.

It’s an initiative designed to create greater awareness of this ancient science for better health and well being of humanity as a whole.

Yoga is a holistic science designed to maintain the balance between body and mind to ensure good health and well being. It is a physical, mental and spiritual practice of discipline that originated in India 5000 years ago.

On Saturday June 20 the Sankalpa Yoga Studio offered a free session in commemoration of the Day. Other Yoga studios in Grenada also conducted similar sessions in observance of International Yoga Day.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Honourable Clarice Modeste-Curwen congratulated the Government of India for this noble initiative aimed at aiding the good health and well being of humanity.
