Customs Officers training in GATT Valuation Method

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Wednesday, January 28, 2015: Fifteen (15) Customs Officers of the Division of Customs and Excise are currently being trained in the General Agreement in Trade and Tariffs (GATT) Valuation Method. The training commenced on Monday, January 26th, 2015 and will end on Thursday, January 29th, 2015.

Training of the Officers in GATT Valuation is a key component for the implementation of the new Customs Act. The training will equip the Officers with the skills for conducting valuations in accordance with the new Act.

The training is being conducted by Mr. Michael Jordan, a Customs Expert. His assignment is being supported by CARTAC, in response to a request for technical assistance made by the Comptroller of Customs.
