Assessment of Island's Tourists attractions done by Tourism Minister

Beausejour, Carriacou, January 26, 2015- A visit to the first well built on the island of Carriacou Ningo Well located in Bayaleau; formed part of Minister for Tourism Hon. Yolande Bain-Horsford visit to the twin isle parish of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Bain- Horsford in her first visit here since assuming the post noted that the island which has over ten (10) historical sites is truly the “Cradle of Culture”.

However, while being pleased that the islands have much to offer tourists; she expressed concern about the present condition and maintenance of the historical sites. 

Therefore, there are plans to meet with her colleague Minister, Minister with responsibility for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs Hon. Elvin Nimrod and other relevant authorities to discuss developmental plans.

Minister Bain-Horsford was accompanied by Product Development Manager at the Grenada Tourism Authority Kirl Hoschitialek and Implementation Officer in the Ministry of Tourism Gerard McPhail along with Marketing Executive Rina Mills.

Other areas visited are the old People’s Revolutionary Government training camp, Dumfries Estate and the island of Petite Martinique.
