KFC National Relay Meet to be launched next week

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 20 January, 2015 – Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Religious Affairs: The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Religious Affairs, in conjunction with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Grenada Ltd., will launch the 2015 KFC National Relay Meet.

The launch will be held on Wednesday, 28th January, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Progress Park, St. Andrew.

During the launch, KFC will provide one hundred (100) meals to students from five (5) secondary schools to amplify the efforts of KFC and its global campaign to raise awareness for hunger relief – Grenville Secondary School, St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School, St. Joseph’s Convent St. Andrew, Grenada Christian Academy, and Mac Donald College.

Since 1998, the National Relay Meet has grown to become one of Grenada’s highly anticipated premiere track event. Annually, the one-day event attracts over six hundred (600) athletes from primary and secondary schools and athletic clubs and a spectatorship of over four thousand (4,000).

For five (5) years KFC Grenada Ltd. has been the official sponsor of the National Relay Meet.

The Ministry is proud to partner with KFC Grenada and highly commends the company for its continued support and sponsorship towards the development of Grenada’s youth through sport.

The 17th edition of the KFC National Relay Meet is scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 28th at the National cricket Stadium beginning at 12:00 noon.
