ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, August 28, 2015 - GIS: The Keith Mitchell administration has achieved record surplus in state revenues collected at the Customs and Inland Revenue departments.

For the first time in Grenada’s history, Government Surplus has peaked at 32 million dollars.

Prime Minister Mitchell says surplus at the Customs Department is 15 million dollars while Inland Revenue is boasting of a 17 million dollar figure.

“The surplus over the estimates for this year already is over 15 million dollars in the customs and over 17 million dollars in inland revenue,” Prime Minister Mitchell told a Town Hall meeting in Toronto last weekend.

“So the surplus is over 32 million dollars. That has never happened in the history of the country”.

Meantime the next estimates of revenue and expenditure will be presented on the 25th of November.

“Parliament now must be in November. We can’t go into Christmas and into the new year,” Prime Minister Mitchell said.

“It’s a legal document now and this year we have announced it last week Wednesday. It is November 25th”.
