2014 Inter - Primary Football Competition commenced

Beausejour, Carriacou, October 31st, 2014- Four football players from Carriacou and Petite Martinique will be among forty (40) national players participating in the under 13 national development initiative programme organized by the Grenada Football Association (GFA).

Technical Director of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) Lester Smith speaking at the opening of the 2014 Carriacou & Petite Martinique Inter-primary Football Competition noted that GFA ensures that players from Carriacou and Petite Martinique are included in national programmes.

With three girls participating in this year’s competition; Smith said they are working assiduously to get more females involved in the sport.

The competition which is organized by the Carriacou Football League and supported by the Division of Sports within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs involves all the five primary schools on the island including Petite Martinique.

Members of the Jason Roberts Foundation witnessed the opening ceremony of the competition which included a few exhibition matches
