In an initiative spearheaded by the Minister with responsibility for Culture, Senator Brenda Hood, Mr. Hollice Mapp, aka Mr. Killa, was due to be welcomed this evening, Sunday, March 9, at the Maurice Bishop International Airport upon his return to Grenada.

Senator Hood will be joined by other parliamentarians and government officials in welcoming our International soca artist.

Mr. Killa has just completed a whirlwind few months that climaxed with his superb performance at the International Soca Monarch Competition in Trinidad and Tobago, in which he tied for second place, performing his power song "Rolly Polly."

Government has invited the family of Mr. Killa to join in celebrating his success this evening in a fanciful affair at the VIP Lounge at the airport; complete with food and drinks.

Government officials will be joined by a number of stakeholders; many of whom have assisted in sponsorship of the event.

Mr. Killa will then be escorted in a motorcade all the way to his home in Gouyave, a community which, in 24 hours has had its share of grief and joy, having lost five homes to a devastating fire on Saturday evening.

Tonight though, the nation joins in celebrating our local soca sensation.
