Gouyave Fire Victims recieve assitance from the diaspora

ST.GEORGE'S, GRENADA, JUNE 26, 2014 -GIS: Eight persons who were affected by the fire in Gouyave St. John's earlier this year were given assistance through the donations of nine barrels from Grenadians and friends living in the diaspora.

The barrels containing mainly food stuff, clothing and other items were presented to the fire victims by the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) along with the Parliamentary Representative for St. John’s, the Hon. Alvin DaBreo.

MP DaBreo expressed thanks to those who contributed to this worthy cause. He stated that three houses have already been secured while discussions are continuing over the remaining three.

All of the recipients expressed thanks to all who provided assistance to them. One of the affected victims, Ms. Stella Smith, stated that she is very thankful for the assistance and hope that more help comes soon in terms of housing. She is currently living with her sister.
