Through uplifting spiritual songs and prayers youths of the twin isle parish of Carriacou and Petite Martinique were encouraged to live a life pleasing to God.

Members of the religious community joined with the Division of Youth, Sports & Religious Affairs to host a “Day of Prayer” at the Hillsborough Tennis Court under the theme, “Come and watch with me”.

Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs Hon. Elvin Nimrod, Senator Jester Emmons and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Bernadette Lendore-Sylvester participated in this special event.

Focus was also placed on a number of issues faced by youths today. This included Alcoholism, Drugs Abuse, Anger Management, Homosexuality and Career Guidance.

Motivational Speaker Neil Chitans giving excerpts of his life story which includes being a dentist by profession encouraged the young people to become watchmen for the Lord.

Chitans who is based in Canada also told them that they must always stop and think of the consequences of their actions as they go about their daily living.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, July 10th a motivational session will be hosted by Mr. Chitans for public officers in Carriacou and Petite Martinique at the Multipurpose Centre commencing at 1 p.m.
