St. Mark’s MP praises residents for making health a top priority

: Parliamentary Representative of St. Mark Dr. Clarice Modeste has praised residents for their interest and participation in a recent health fair in the constituency.

Scores of residents turned out to the Health and Wellness Fair which took place in Victoria and received wide support from various institutions.

They include MNIB, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Social Development, Grenada Food and Nutrition Council, NAWASA, Grenada Planned Parenthood Association, Ministry of Health, Royal Grenada Police Force and Communal Cooperative Credit Union.

"It was a wonderful turn out from the people of St. Mark and indeed I was very excited to see the level of interest that they are showing in being healthy,” said Dr. Modeste, the former health minister who has taken up the new portfolio of foreign affairs.

“I think the turnout is evidence that people are taking seriously our ongoing advocacy for people to make health a top priority. Many people are indeed heeding our call”.

Information on preventative care on how to avoid diseases such as dengue, Chikungunya and rabies were given.

Also persons took advantage of the opportunity to carry out tests for Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Cholesterol, Plant Care and Water Management.
