ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 14 August, 2014: England will play their first-ever Test match at the National Cricket Stadium in Grenada as part of their three-Test tour to the Caribbean in April – May, 2015.

Minister for Youth, Sports, and Religious Affairs Hon. Emmalin Pierre stated that Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique can offer the combination of excellent cricket facilities and high-quality visitor experience, especially after the successful hosting of Caribbean Premiere League (CPL) T20 in July.

Minister Pierre also firmly believes that hosting the England-West Indies Test will be a “…tremendous opportunity for our entire nation and West Indies Cricket.”

Paul Downton, Managing Director of England Cricket, said: “we thank the West Indies Cricket Board for their assistance with the organisation of the tour and we know the venues will prove extremely popular with the thousands of cricket lovers who follow England to the Caribbean. It will also be exciting for many to visit the new venue of Grenada for the first time.”

In the schedule announced by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), Grenada will host the second Test of the series between 21st and 25th April of next year. It will only be the third time Grenada has staged a Test Match – the last time being West Indies against Bangladesh in 2009.

Preceding the Test series, two warm-up matches will be played at Warner Park in St. Kitts on April 6th – 7th and 8th – 9th.

  • April 8–9: Second England warm-up game - Warner Park, St. Kitts
