ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, April 4, 2014 - GIS:
The Government of Grenada would like to address a resoundingly false statement made by an opposition party in which it accused the administration of Dr. Keith Mitchell of “interfering with the electoral process.”

There is absolutely no basis on which to validate that statement.

The fact remains that the Acting Supervisor of Elections has resigned and rather than discussing his intentions with the Governor General, under whose auspices he served, he chose to announce his resignation in the Media.

The electoral office, and all appointments therein, are under the guardianship of the Governor General, and are thus completely independent of Government.

Government takes this opportunity to reiterate its focus on the unification, development and fiscal sustainability of our nation and people.
