Ms. Jones is a 2013/2014 Commonwealth Scholar. She is the holder of a Master of Public Administration (Distinction) from the University of York, United Kingdom.

Career Achievement 

Rhonda Jones joined the Department of Public Administration in August 2015 as a Reform Management Officer. That role largely centered on providing support for Public Sector modernization through technical assistance to line ministries, research and analysis for policy development and implementation and change management among other critical support activities for Public Sector reform. 

In November of 2018, Ms. Jones was appointed to act as Permanent Secretary of the Department. As a Public Administration professional, she is committed to driving Public Sector transformation using a customized solution-oriented approach that combines global comparative knowledge of reform successes and failures with a keen understanding of institutional challenges and opportunities.

Prior to joining the Department, she taught at the St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Andrew’s for over fourteen (14) years in the areas of English Language, English Literature, History and Social Studies. While there she served as Head of the Social Studies Department from 2007 and Head Coach of the Debate Team 2010-12.
