Prime Minister Travels to Dominica on Tuesday,September 26th

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, SEPTEMBER 25 2017 - GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SERVICE (GIS): -
 Prime Minister Dr. the Right Hon. Keith Mitchell will travel tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26, to Barbados and hurricane-ravaged Dominica.


On Tuesday morning, Dr. Mitchell, in his capacity as Chairman of the Caribbean Development Bank, will deliver the feature presentation at the Sixth meeting of Contributors and Development Partners of the CARICOM Development Fund, (CDF), in Barbados.

The presentation will be followed by a short Media engagement.


At 11 a.m. Prime Minister Mitchell, along with Dr. Warren Smith, President of the Caribbean Development Bank, and a team of experts from the Regional Security System and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, (CDEMA), will travel to Dominica, aboard the RSS plane, where they will do an aerial helicopter tour of the island, seeing firsthand the devastation caused by last week’s Hurricane Maria. 


Thereafter, they will be joined by the Secretary General of CARICOM, and Dominica native, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, as they meet with Prime Minister of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit. 


This will be followed by a media briefing.
Prime Minister returns to Grenada tomorrow evening, (Tuesday 26th). In his absence, Hon. Gregory Bowen will be the Acting Prime Minister.
