St. George’s Grenada, Mar. 29, 2016:Following quickly on the heels of the Minister for Education’s, Hon. Anthony Boatswain’s, assurance to the public of the refurbishment of the Grenada Public Library, representatives from the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, including Secretary General Sir Anthony Bailey, visited Grenada during the week of March 14, 2016, to follow-up on plans for several funded projects.

Sir Bailey said, “This visit also comes against the backdrop of a new and powerful engagement and dialogue, between Grenada and our worldwide church.”

The delegation, accompanied by the Governor General, Her Excellency, C├ęcile La Grenade, visited the sites of several designated projects, to be undertaken by the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George.

Those included the Palmiste, St. John branch of the New Life Organization (NEWLO) and the St. Joseph’s Convent, St. George.

“The Prime Minister, in 2014, had his audience with the Holy Father and last November, it was my honor and pleasure to accompany Her Excellency and the Foreign Minister, on the first-ever official visit, by a Governor General of Grenada, to Rome,” Sir Bailey noted.

Principal of the St. Joseph’s Convent, St. George, Sister Lucy Gabriel, speaking during the delegations’ visit to her school, said to Sir Bailey, “Your generous contribution has certainly moved us to commence, immediately, this phase of our project, with the able assistance of Mr. Dwayne Noel, technical advisor, for the project. We can assure you, Sir that a comprehensive account will be forwarded and you will be kept updated with our progress.”

Other beneficiaries of funding from the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George include the Top Hill Home in Carriacou, the Grand Anse Home for the Aged; the St. Patrick R.C. School; the Dorothy Hopkin Home for the Disabled and the Grand Anse Girls’ Centre and Grand Anse Home for the Aged.

During its June 2015, the Constantinian Order launched a multi-million dollar programme of charitable engagement with Grenada.
