Junior Calypso Competition to be held as a separate event

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, JULY 26, 2016 - GIS:  For the first time since the inception of the Children’s Carnival Frolic, the Junior Calypso Competition will be held as a separate event.

Mr. Kirk Seetahal, CEO of the Spicemas Corporation says the change is to avoid the late climax of the event, as has been the case in the past few years.

During today’s Post Cabinet Briefing Mr. Seetahal said “I believe it will stand on its own and we’re going to see a big event on Thursday.”

He is confident that the Calypso aspect of the Children’s Carnival Frolic, which will be held on Thursday, is quite capable of surviving on its own.

Seethal said sponsorship was lost last year as a result of poor management by the SMC.
The other aspects of the Children Carnival Frolic will take place at the National Stadium on Saturday July 30th from 11am.
