UK Prime Minister to Visit Grenada

ST.GEORGE'S, GRENADA, September 29, 2015 - GIS: Some major announcements are expected to be made regarding developmental programmes when the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the Right Honourable David Cameron visits Grenada this week.


The visit is part of the UK’s re-engagement with the Caribbean, with Jamaica and Grenada being the launching point for this re-engagement.


As part of the agenda, Prime Minister Cameron who will arrive from Jamaica, will hold a bilateral meeting with his Grenadian counterpart, Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, followed by a meeting with Cabinet members.

Addressing members of the media during the weekly Post Cabinet Briefing Tuesday, Sen. Winston Garraway, Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Religious Affairs said more details regarding the visit will be given on Wednesday.


In May, Prime Minister Cameron won the first Conservative majority since 1992, thus securing another term as the UK’s prime minister.
