PM Mitchell on one day trip to Trinidad and Tobago

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, October 20, 2015 - GIS: Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Honourable Keith Mitchell is on a one-day visit to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago today.

Prime Minister was invited in his capacity as Lead Head with responsibility for Science and Technology under CARICOM, to deliver the feature address at the award ceremony for the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.

During the hours preceding the ceremony, Prime Minister Mitchell will meet with recently elected Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley.

It will be their first meeting since Dr. Rowley assumed office in early September.

The two Heads are expected to discuss Air transport, oil and gas, debt relief and other common issues.

Upon conclusion of the meeting between the Heads, Dr. Mitchell will pay a courtesy call on his counterpart Finance Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Honourable Colm Imbert.

Dr. Keith Mitchell, who is also Chairman of the CARICOM Subcommittee on Cricket Governance, will also take some time to meet with embattled cricketers, Dwayne Bravo and Keiron Pollard, during the early afternoon.

The Award ceremony at the University at which he will deliver the feature address, commences at 5:30 pm, before which Prime Minister Mitchell will meet privately with the Pro Vice Chancellor & Campus Principal, Professor Clement Sankat.
Dr. Mitchell returns to Grenada tonight, Tuesday, October 20th.

During his absence, Honourable Elvin Nimrod is the Acting Prime Minister.
