Call for comments on Draft Electricity Reform Documents

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Tuesday, March 17, 2015: The Ministry of Finance and Energy invite all Grenadians to submit their comments on the draft Electricity Bill and the Summary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission Bill, to the Ministry of Finance and Energy by March 27th, 2015. This call goes out to Grenadians, local and abroad, including persons who participated in the national consultation on February 25th, 2015.

The draft Electricity Supply Act and Summary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission Bill can be found at http://www.gov.gd/egov/docs/legislations/draft-electricity-supply-bill.pdf and http://www.gov.gd/egov/docs/legislations/summary-public-utilities-regulatory-Commission-bill.pdf, respectively. The document can also be obtained from the Ministry by sending an email to financegrenada@gmail.com or by calling the Ministry at (473) 435-0057.

Comments on the documents can be submitted to the Ministry by sending an email to financegrenada@gmail.com or by submitting written comments to the Ministry for the attention of the Permanent Secretary.

All Grenadians are invited to be a part this process, as the issue of electricity affects everyone – households, hotels, businesses, Government. Indeed, it is not just a development issue with implications for the growth and the creation of much needed jobs. It is also a national security issue.
