ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, JULY 20, 2015 – GIS: With the first round of fogging completed the Vector Control Division – Ministry of Health will commence its second round of fogging starting Monday, July 20 when the team heads to Grenville St. Andrew.
As previously stated this exercise is aimed at minimizing the impact of any mosquito borne diseases that may become a threat to the well being of our citizen’s health and wellness, important industries such as tourism and our economy.
Fogging is one method of reducing the high incidence of mosquito infestation.

Meanwhile, health officials are appealing to all homeowners and individuals to keep their surroundings clean and reduce breeding sites such as old tires, tins, coconut shells, blocked drains and other water holding containers.
This, they argue is critical in reducing the mosquito population, and the threat of borne diseases.
The Ministry of Health is also seeking the public’s cooperation to ensure the effectiveness of the fogging campaign by opening up doors and windows thus allowing the fog to enter and kill the mosquitoes.
A special appeal is also being made for persons with respiratory difficulties to stay away from the fog or inform the fogging team of their health conditions. The fogging teams are also seeking Aviary farmers and Beekeepers support to avoid possible disruption in the exercise.
