Prime Minister visits Toronto, Meets with Grenadians, Investors

ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA, August 20, 2015 – GIS: Prime Minister, Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, left Grenada earlier Thursday, August 20, for Toronto, Canada, on a series of engagements of national interests.

On Friday, August 21, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with the executives of all Grenada groups, followed by a major Town Hall/Diaspora Forum with Grenadian Nationals and friends, at York Civic Center, located at 2700 Eglinton Avenue West.

The meeting will be preceded by press interviews, starting at 6:15 p.m.

On Saturday, August 22, Prime Minister Mitchell will join the anticipated large gathering at Coronation Park, for the Grenada Day Festival.

Dr. Mitchell has attended the NY version of the festival, but it will his first time participating in Toronto's.

Other engagements in Canada include a fundraising event with Nationals on Sunday morning, August 23, and meetings with potential investors.

The Prime Minister departs Toronto late Sunday night for a Monday morning meeting in Barbados with the West Indies Cricket Review Panel, headed by Dr. Eudine Barriteau, principal of the UWI Cavehill Campus.

The panel, which was convened in May 2015 by the Grenadian Prime Minister, the Lead Head under CARICOM with responsibility for Cricket Review, plans to complete their report by early next week, on conclusion of the Barbados meeting.

PM Mitchell returns to Grenada early afternoon on Monday, August 24. In his absence, Honourable Gregory Bowen is the Acting Prime Minister.
