ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Friday, May 23, 2014: The Central Statistical Office of the Ministry of Finance and Energy in collaboration with Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat with funding from PARIS 21 (Partnership in Statistics for Development in the Twenty-First Century), The European Union (EU), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and UNDP will be hosting a series of Meetings at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, Grand Anse, St. George’s from 26th -29th May 2014 under the theme “ A data revolution for sustainable development, with a new international initiative to improve the quality of statistics and information available to citizens”.
The week commences with a High Level Forum on Statistics on 26th May 2014 where Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and Energy Dr. the Rt. Honourable Keith Mitchell will deliver the Keynote Address.
In attendance will be Permanent Secretaries from Ministries responsible for Statistics in CARICOM member states and associate member along with the Chief Statisticians or Directors of Statistics. Also in attendance will be regional and international organizations.
The main objective of the meetings is to promote commitment to the strategic development of statistics at the highest levels of CARICOM and coherence with the strategic direction of the Community.
The series of meetings will also seek to facilitate the availability of relevant, timely and high quality statistics to inform the strategic direction of the Community through the implementation of a harmonized Regional Statistical Work Programme at the country level.

- Seminar on Multi Dimensional Poverty/Labour Force Estimation - May 28th 2014.
- First meeting of the Caribbean Association of Professional Statistician - May 29th 2014.
- Meeting of the Advisory Group on Statistics - May 29th 2014.
- ICT Fair - May 26th – 28th 2014
