Nation grieves with Prime Minister on uncle’s passing

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, April 22, 2014 – GIS:
The Government and People of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique extend deepest condolences to the family of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell on the passing of Dr. Mitchell's uncle.


The uncle, Mr. Elgin Jones, was the older and last surviving brother of the mother of the Prime Minister. Mr. Jones died last week at age 93.


Mr. Jones' funeral will be held later today at the Bible Way Church on Lady Young Road in Mova, Trinidad.


Prime Minister Mitchell left Grenada earlier Tuesday April 22nd, to attend the funeral with his mother, after which he will travel to the Netherlands on state business.


The thoughts and prayers of the nation are with the family of the Prime Minister during this difficult period.
