Hillsborough, Carriacou, December 20th, 2011-Spreading the message of peace and goodwill to elderly citizens at the Top Hill Senior Citizens Home was the focus of Governor General His Excellency Sir Carlyle Glean visit to Carriacou recently.
The Governor General who joined in the singing of Christmas carols at the institution said the contributions made by the elderly in the development of the tri-island state must be commended. Therefore, it is important that he visits the institution.
In keeping with the Christmas spirit he presented two cakes to acting Matron of the Home Gloria Phillip- Smith.
The Governor General also visited the Princess Royal Hospital where he mingled with Matron Therese Hamlet, staff and patients and made a similar presentation of cakes.
Both matrons expressed their appreciation to the Governor General for his visit especially around this time of year.
