National Budget Consultation for 2012 Budget

ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA, Monday, December 05, 2011: The National Budget Consultation on the 2012 Budget will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Grenada Trade Centre from 9:00 am.

This year’s Agenda will include an address by the Prime Minister, Hon. Tillman Thomas, and a Summary Report on the implementation of the 2011 Budget` by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Nazim Burke.

The Ministry of Finance will also present the 2012 installment of the Government’s three-year Budget Framework.

The priorities for the 2012 Budget are:

-          Agribusiness;

-          Health, Education and Wellness Services;

-          Tourism and Hospitality Services;

-          Energy Development;

-          Information and Communications Technology;

-          Economic Management;

-          Public Administration and Governance; and

-          Public Infrastructure/Construction

In this regard, the National Consultation will focus on six working groups namely: Tourism, Agribusiness, Small Business Development, Health, Job Creation, and Waste Reduction.
