ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA, 2 DECEMBER 2011_Grenada’s Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas has congratulated the leader of the St. Lucia Labour Party, Dr. Kenny Anthony on his party’s victory in general elections earlier this week.
The Grenadian leader said he looks forward to working with Prime Minister Anthony to strengthen the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), as it moves forward with the establishment of the Single Market and the development of the subregion.
Prime Minister Thomas said Mr. Anthony will find in Grenada “a willing partner” in the subregion’s efforts to deepen relations and work together to find solutions to the current difficulties affecting the regional economy.
“I look forward to working with you in implementing measures that will bring the region closer together and improve the economic and social conditions for all our people,” the Prime Minister said Thursday.
He made the comments just prior to boarding a flight to Venezuela to attend a meeting of Petro Caribe. He is accompanied by Minister for Finance Nazim Burke and Mr. Vincent Roberts, a member of the Board of Directors of Petro Caribe Grenada.
Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Denis Michael Lett is appointed to act as Prime Minister in the absence of Prime Minister Thomas.
