ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA; WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 1ST, 2010 – After many years of advocacy for the availability of cable services to the residents of Hermitage, St. Patrick, Prime Minister Thomas, who is the Parliamentary Representative for the area, was able to, for the first time, turn on his television set to the Government Information Service channel at his private home in Hermitage, this morning.
“We live in an age where access to information on local, regional and global events is vital to survival and decisions that we must make on a daily basis. For many years I have sought to have cable service in the village of Hermitage, as in other neighborhoods; and I am happy that my community is getting this service as of today,” said PM Thomas.
Present for the activation of FLOW-Columbus Communications (Grenada) Limited’s Digital Video, Broadband and Talk services in the village of Hermitage, were the company’s head of sales and marketing, Mrs. Gail Purcell and marketing executive, Ms. Rockell Clement.
Regarding the significance of this activation, Mrs. Purcell said “This is quite an event because Hermitage has been one of the communities awaiting the availability of cable for a number of years, and will be the first community in St. Patrick to have access to the Triple Play Services from FLOW. We are pleased to be able to bring greater choice to a northern community.”
Already, in excess of 60 of the 300-plus households in Hermitage, have registered for the new cable and internet communications services that are being offered by FLOW.
